Save money with your agent
How to save money on car insurance with an AI agent
Your agent reads your renewal notice, then Tuvoz calls 3 local independent insurance agencies for prices on the same coverage and lays them next to what you pay now.

What you could save
Drivers who switched car insurers saved a median $461 a year.
How to do it with your agent
Step 1
Let your agent read your email
Connect Gmail, or the inbox you use, to your agent so it can find your renewal notice or declarations page: your insurer, premium, coverage limits, deductibles, cars and drivers.
- claude.ai: connect Gmail under Customize > Connectors. Anthropic's help
- Claude Code: uses the connectors you added on claude.ai when you sign in with your Claude account, so connect Gmail there first. Claude Code docs
- ChatGPT and Codex: add the Gmail plugin under Settings > Plugins. Codex uses the same plugins, except in the IDE extension. OpenAI's help
- Meta Muse: go to Settings > Connectors, or ask it to connect your Gmail. You choose whether it can only read your mail. Meta's help
- OpenClaw: use the bundled gog skill, which needs your own Google OAuth setup. the skill's docs

Step 2
Set up Tuvoz
Paste this into your agent. Skip this step if it already has Tuvoz.

Run this prompt
Paste it into the same chat. Change anything first, like how many places to call.
Find my current car insurance renewal notice or declarations page in my email. Then use Tuvoz to call 3 well-reviewed independent insurance agencies near me, at their local numbers, and ask what they'd charge for the same coverage, limits and deductibles. You can share my ZIP code, each car's year, make and model, the drivers' ages and our driving record. Don't share dates of birth, license numbers, policy numbers or card numbers. Don't agree to anything or start a policy; ask me first. Ask each agency which insurers they quote and what they'd need from me for a firm quote. Show me the plan before you call, then put the prices side by side with what I pay now.
Consumer Reports suggests shopping around every year or two, and state regulators like the Texas Department of Insurance say to get prices from several companies. The hard part is the calls, and comparing like with like. NAIC lists what to match: liability limits, personal injury protection, uninsured motorist coverage, deductibles and any extras.
Your agent reads your renewal notice, so it knows exactly what you have now. Tuvoz then calls 3 local independent insurance agencies, asks what the same coverage would cost, and your agent lays the answers next to your current premium. You decide whether to switch.
Who Tuvoz calls
Independent insurance agencies near you, at the local numbers on their listings. An independent agent works with several insurers, so one call can cover more than one company. Tuvoz doesn’t call toll-free lines or mobile numbers, so your agent picks agencies with a listed office number.
What the agency hears
Every call opens the same way:
“Hi! I’m Jane Doe’s AI assistant, calling through Tuvoz about a car insurance quote.”
Then it asks whether it may record the call. If they say no, it says goodbye and your agent tells you. If they say yes, it describes the coverage from your renewal notice: the cars, the ZIP code, the drivers’ ages, the limits and the deductibles. It asks what they’d charge, which insurers they’d quote, and what they need for a firm quote.
If the agency asks something your agent didn’t put in the brief, like whether you’d bundle home insurance, the voice agent asks your agent during the call. If your agent can’t answer, Tuvoz calls your phone and asks you. More on this in how the mid-call backchannel works.
What comes back
A short table: each agency, the price for the same coverage, which insurer it’s with, anything that differs from your current policy, and what they need from you for a firm quote. Your current premium sits in the last row so the gap is plain.
What it won’t do
- Share dates of birth, license numbers, policy numbers or card numbers. If an agency needs them, the summary says so, and you call back or fill in their form.
- Agree to a policy, a payment or a callback time without asking you first.
- Change or cancel your current policy.
- Call toll-free numbers or someone’s mobile.
What it costs
Three calls of about 4 minutes each is 12 minutes, or $1.44 (720 seconds × $0.002). Tuvoz charges $0.12 a minute, billed per second with a 30-second minimum per answered call leg, including calls to your own phone. Calls nobody answers cost nothing. A new account starts with 15 minutes of free talk time.
FAQ
- Will an insurance agency quote a price to an AI?
- Some will give a ballpark from the car, the ZIP code, the drivers' ages and the coverage you want. A firm quote usually needs details from each driver's license and the car's registration, which Tuvoz doesn't read out on a call, so the agency may ask you to finish the quote yourself or offer to email you. The summary says which answers are ballparks.
- Can Tuvoz switch or cancel my policy?
- No. It asks for prices and brings them back. Insurers check who you are before they change a policy, and Tuvoz doesn't answer those questions. If you want to switch, you start the new policy yourself, then cancel the old one.
- How many agencies can it call?
- A free account can call 3 new numbers a day, one call at a time. A paid account can call 10 new numbers a day, up to 3 at once. Change the number in the prompt.
- Why independent agencies?
- An independent agent can quote several insurers on one call, so 3 calls cover more of the market. Tuvoz doesn't call toll-free numbers, and most insurers' national sales lines are toll-free, which is another reason the prompt asks for local agencies.
